Over the next few weeks your Gibson corespondent will be visiting various stockists across London. This week we dropped by Modfather Clothing in Camden, known for stocking handpicked heritage brands.

Modfather Clothing is a family run business started in 2012 by Mario and Daniel Warner. You can find them online here or why not pay them a visit at Camden's historic Stables Market.

Introducing Gibson London SS16

Our new Gibson SS16 collection is more than a splash of colour. It’s a wave of shades, a tsunami of pigments, and a true feast for the eyes.

This season’s suits are bold and bright with tonal knitwear and ties, perfect to match or contrast depending on the mood. Styled in wide notch or peak lapels, this suit collection has a touch of the peacock about it. For a slightly toned down approach we have a range of checked suits a more subdued affair but still one to catch the eye. All our suits also feature an antique brass scissors lapel pin for that final nod to the tailor.

Our Jacket collection is based around shades of blue in an array of patterns and styles including puppytooth, window pane checks, textured weave, oxford weave, a subtle stripe and a simple plain – but all with that special touch of Gibson London detail. One of the most striking jackets in this season’s collection is the Henley Regatta style grey and red brick jacket.

For a more casual look we have our new range of knitwear separates, crafted from 100% merino wool in an assortment of summer colours in v-neck and crew neck styles. To complete the look why not team with a patterned casual shirt? Perfect for those easy going summer days.

This season’s spring summer collection is our best yet and is sure to impress any way you wear it.

Old Empire Motorcycles - The Ride of the Ripon

This amazing video features the launch of yet another incredible custom classic from Old Empire Motorcycles. Whilst the star of the show is obviously the bike our Donegal Tweed Suit plays the supporting role!

The video was made by the highly skilled team from StudioThirtyFour and also features a very stylish pre-launch Epicurist helmet from Hedon.

AW15 Collection Preview Video

Our Autumn Winter 2015 Collection will be launching very soon, this season we've reintroduced Donegal mixer suits with new shades and details. We also have a range of new check suits, half lined jackets, bomber jackets, shirts and even an updated version of the Gibson London favourite, the Vinnie overcoat.

Psyche is a 35,000 square foot luxury department store located in Middlesbrough that is home to over 150 brands. Over the years Psyche has won numerous awards and was named as one of the best menswear shops outside of London by GQ Magazine.

Gibson has a dedicated area on the tailoring floor within Psyche, which has proven very popular with their customers plus their managing director Steve Cochrane. The Psyche store was the first to host a Gibson shop fit and is a major flagship store in the north of England.

Introducing Spring Summer 2015

This season's Gibson London Collection is inspired by the bright sights and sounds of the 50's carnival. Contrasting textures and patterns have been combined to create new dress codes and some truly unique pieces.

Our new range includes new tonic suits with bold horizontal stripe lining and under collar trim details, as well as some with mismatching buttons on the cuff to add an element of surprise.

Our extensive range of new jackets is trimmed with bold colours in a mix of plain and windowpane check styles, while our updated Donegal jackets are now available in pale blue, gold and grey. These sit alongside a new casual collection including harringtons and casual shirts.

One of our key new pieces for this season is this Grey Donegal Suit with a green buggy lining; this means that the lining on the inside covers approximately half the jacket. The overall design helps to keep you cool in the warmer summer months. The jacket also comes complete with a matching green turn-out pocket which can be pulled up to make a faux pocket square.

Our updated knitwear collection is perfect as a layering piece in the evening or on cooler summer days. The v-neck jumpers are made from luxurious Italian merino wool. These breathable pieces are available in a bright array of colours to match any combination of outfits.

Throughout this season we will be adding many more items to our collection. Watch this space...

OEM Lightning With Gibson London

Taking cues from its namesake the English Electric Lightning, this cold war inspired custom utilises a modified mono shock swing arm, shortened front and handmade tail unit to great effect.
Gibson London were proud to supply the Old Empire Motorcycles a grouse tweed jacket, gold tweed waist coat and a gold tweed tie for their recent photo shoot for their new 'Lightning'. Featured alongside Hedon Helmets, Southcombe Gloves, Hiut Denim, Dr Martins and modelled by Jacob Young.

September 14 will see the launch of our most comprehensive collection to date. Perennial favourites like our Tweed and Donegal Jackets, sharp Suiting and tailored “Vinnie” Coats now sit alongside a stunning new casual collection of brushed cotton shirts, fine merino sweaters, chunky knits and tweed harringtons. Autumn browns, grey, green and blue set the general tone, with russet and mustard adding the highlights to a collection which now features endless possibilities to mix and match across formal and casual themes.

Famous Faces and Sharp Suits

At Gibson London we're privileged to welcome through our doors some of our favourite people from across the worlds of music and film.

As our roots lie in great British design, it's no surprise that we have some great British musicians and artists that see us as a part of their image.

Drummer Steve White, who played with The Style Council, and later on many of Paul Weller's solo albums, recently approached us to supply the suit for his wedding to Coronation Street actress Sally Lindsey. Here he is pictured in our Charcoal Twill Three Piece Suit by Hello Magazine - alongside some other familiar faces.

You can complete this look with our White Herringbone Shirt with Penny Round Collar and any of our great range of ties.

But Steve is not the only famous face to don one of our outfits since we've opened our doors. We recently received none other than Martin Freeman - star of The Hobbit, Sherlock and The Office - who proudly demonstrated his sense of style in some of our excellent suit jackets. Also seen showcasing the Gibson look on the streets of London is Mod singer Darron Conett (left) and noted photographer Dean Chalkley (right) both of whom look sharp in a Gibson Marriot-style two piece suit, complemented by a white shirt and Gibson tie.

As longstanding friends of Gibson already know, our spiritual roots lie firmly in Sixties London when the music you listened to influenced the clothes you wore and vice versa. Music was our religion which we expressed through our fashion. Fashion not only in terms of the clothes we wore but in the Scooters we rode, the clubs we hung out in, the streets we walked, the way we talked. We wanted to be different, stand out, be noticed.

The Gibson London Collection represents the best of authentic British fashion in garment design. From immaculate jackets, frock coats such as our latest Flannel Check “Vinnie” and dapper suits such as our Navy Pink Stripe to tailored shirts and statement accessories we are passionate about what we do and how we do it, blending modern design with vintage craftsmanship to create objects of desire. Take the linings of our jackets such as the Gold Multi-Check for example where our luxurious map-print lining provides the perfect compliment to the natural ruggedness of pure new wool tweed. Our shirts such as our latest Penny Round Collar Stripe provide an immaculate fit with a sharp, clean look.
